An exceptional guest: ESA Astronaut and Biotechnologist Sara García Alonso
This year's edition features an inspiring keynote lecture by Sara García Alonso, biotechnologist at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) and member of the European Space Agency (ESA) Astronaut Reserve.
Her talk, titled “Biotechnology: From the Laboratory to Space”, will explore the intersection of scientific research and space exploration, offering attendees a unique perspective on the future of biotechnology and its applications beyond Earth.
Recognition of scientific and technological excellence
During the event, ACIEAU will present the First ACIEAU Awards, created to highlight outstanding contributions in two key fields:
- Hispanic-Emirati Scientific Collaboration
- Spanish Innovation with Impact in the UAE
These awards strengthen ACIEAU’s mission of fostering visibility, collaboration and impact within the Spanish scientific community abroad.
